BEPS Compliance & Benchmarking Services

 DC's BEPS program under the Clean Energy DC Omnibus Act sets energy performance targets for large buildings, with compliance windows running through 2033. Annual benchmarking in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is required.

Threshold: 10,000 sq ft and above  ·  Law: DC Code § 6-1451.03 

 Montgomery County requires annual benchmarking for covered commercial and multifamily buildings, with ENERGY STAR scores reported to the County each June. Performance standards under MCBEPS are being phased in.

Threshold: 25,000 sq ft and above  ·  Law: MC Bill 9-22 

 Maryland's statewide BEPS framework, enacted under HB 1110, establishes performance targets for large commercial buildings aligned with the state's climate goals. Annual reporting and compliance planning are required for covered properties.
